RIP Steven, who knows how good he might have been, he was so talented even at that age.

I was friends with Steven and it was absolutely shocking to everyone that knew him when the accident happened. Top lad and great little player.



It's a real blast from the past watching this because I was friends at the time with a number of the lads playing and I'd played against most of the others.

Brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for sharing that.

If Steven had lived and become a Pro he'd of been retired a few years by now - didn't know him but remember the incident, very sad as all young road fatalities are.

I played that day and glad some ones put it up l haven't seen this for 28 years Steven was a good friend of mine and his family l still see them now from time to time they would be glad that people still remember him l certainly do he was a top lad and an even better player l still remember where l was when l was told the news shocked to say the least rip Ste

I wasn't born then, but it's reasons like this I love rugby league, and I'm sure I'm not alone on this.



My dad told me this story when I was about 16... I can pretty much recall it word for word now, but every time I do it even gets my bottom lip wobblng and I had never even seen this til just now!!!



As you can imagine it's well and trully done for me...

I played against Steven many a time when he was at the travellers club and I was at half acres and he was a cracking player.I later moved clubs to the travellers side in which Steven played and it was pretty cleàr the impression he left.



We will never know how good he could of been he was certainly up their with the best of his age group.
