Who will we sign to replace Gleeson? And will we spend money on anyone before the season is out, or wait until next year.



Personally I think it will be an overseas signing, but despite his time at Saints' Jamie Lyon does not excite me too much. Like Gleeson he's put on too much size and lost the footwork, elusivity and speed he was noted for. Greg Inglis is another example of a player who will never be the same excitement machine again, he looks like a Prop Forward this season. Anyway I digress...



Michael Jennings would be my number 1 choice. From within SL I reckon Lee Smith would be worth a go, although I concede he's played few games in this position so far in his career.



Who do you reckon would fit the bill?

Shenton and Atkins seeing as we need 2 and with the right money they should be available now imo .

Josh Hannay been rumoured along with SBW on loan from May until end of year

DON'T BE SILLYWe were short in the backs before Gleeson went ,now we are ridiculously short imo we don't have a on the books in the 1st team squad which imo means another early end to the season if we don't replace him with 2 NOW & NOT NEXT YEAR !

I doubt we will sign a replacement this season. Although you never know.

get a brittish centre..not prepared to wait for the settling in period like king

Maybe Smith has his eye on Keith Senior for a season when his Leeds deal runs out this year.



I'd rather a proven superleague player like Shenton or Lyon, be intresting to see who TS has in sights.

what tickles me up is everyone bigging gleeson up when he has been average on the whole during his tenure here.

he could have gone at the end of his contract for nothing but not to the nrl as there have been no formal offers for him from there,so it seems like a bit of shrewd business on our behalf.

every side in the nrl has centres as good as or better than gleeson as does superleague.he was a top quality centre 5 years ago but not since then,whether that has been down to poor coaching or the players attitude and desire to play the game is debatable but the latter is nearer the mark.

Are you sure? if so why did they want Goulding?

goulding was offered by wigan not requested by us.

I have conflicting evidence of this; some seem to think he was wanted but Wigan want to retain him and are only allowing him out on loan as they think he still has a future.



And do we think Mathers was wanted or offered? I suspect offered?

loads of em aparently, just pay em 70k and they'll be as good.

I know he's hardly a world beater, but Kirk Dixon at Cas is plodding along quite well up the goal and try charts.

Beware the dark horse on the outside, perhaps?

just rather av a brittish centre doing the buiseness more or less straight away rather than have some expensive aussie who takes well over a season to settle in...any way gleeson was very good on his day its just a shame he did`nt av to many good days during the last year and half

Lets hope we sign Yeaman or Senior then because outside of them there aren't any, which is why Gleeson was guaranteed an international spot regardless of his form

I would love to see Senior play for us.
