What a great sight to see the flypast today !



A classic flying machine "buzzing" the stadium was great, and what a great sound it made. You can keep your european-produced jets for me - this was a BRITISH classic !!!

Gutted, we couldn't see it from the South/East corner

We saw it go over twice, but not the third time, which was apparently the most spectacular. Great sight.

I'm lucky enough to see all the BBMF aircraft everyday at work - what great machines they are (and more reliable than what we currently fly)

Gave me goosebumps, esp. the sound of it. I'd love to hear the comments from some of our more senior supporters who may have witnessed it. Bet they had a tear or two in their eyes.

Yes a tear in my eye, a magnificent sight.

I was born in the 1960's but if there is one thing guaranteed to bring a lump to my throat, it is the thought of the sacrifice made by that generation. Ordinary people carrying out extraordinary acts of courage and fortitude. Fantastic sight yesterday.

Superb sight...saw it come over 3 times and for me,the last one was best as you could hear it coming.

if you like the Hurricane then the Spitfire is even better (in terms of sound), you used to be able to see it at Belton but the concerts don't happen anymore, the Battle Proms at Burghley is a great (nostalgic) day out though.

please excuse me , I am not too sure of the ettiqutte of such things but anyone who wants to see or get a feel of a spitfire up close, check this out

he told some frighteners

i was in the south/east and saw it...not for long etc but i got a right buzz about seeing it

We got lucky it was supposed to be a Spitfire but the Battle of Britain Memoral flight have been using the Hurricanes a lot more on these sort of events. Hurricane LF363 is a Mk llC and is one of only two operated by the flight, she was built in 1944.

saw the vulcan bomber flying over goole the other day as well - another classic plane

saw the hurricane doing test flights over beverley last week whilst i was fishing,it was so low i could see the pilot so gave him a salute to which he acknowledged.....was buzzzin

the hurricane actually played as big a part as the spitfire in the battle of britain,even,i believe more so.maybe an old ex RAF man could put me right on this.2 brilliant aircraft.

I was gutted when I found out I was going to miss this fly past ..fecking holidays ! , Beautiful aircraft.

Giving my age away now,the Vulcans used to fly low over Cleethorpes when I was a kid.Bloody awesome sight,used to scare the crap out of me.
