No matter where this guy plays he never lets us down, out of position ( thats if he has a position ) on the wing last night and was superb.

I was always confident that with an unbroken run in the side Whiting would show just how good he is. He certainly hasn't disappointed. I said a week or two ago that he could play any position other than prop or wing and give a very good performance. Seems I was wrong. Whiting for prop next week!

Absolutely. His tackling last night was spot on. Gerrim signed up and quick.

As always with Whiting he was in the right place at the right time more often than not last night. Took a deft little kick through in the first half that would have resulted in a try and got over the line to prevent a drop out. Also a great tackle out wide in the second half when there was a man over.

Fully justified his selection in the centres last night and made some really important plays.

He's not fast enough to play prop.

In all seriousness, his versatility is a massive asset. Would love to see him at 13 though (with Fitz at prop or SR). I think he'd excel in a role where he gets his hands on the ball more often.

if rich whiting had pace he would be world class, his defence is outstanding and his reading of the game is almost telepathic, he was unlucky not to get th MOM last nite, great effort

awesome lastnight in adverse conditions just pops up to smash someone in deffense or catch a loose ball at the right time! Who do you play as his winger next week play Hall out of possition or give a youngster a chance?

Well I just hope that we are considering getting him signed up for next season because with the quota going down he will be in demand! I'd give him a couple of years, he is becoming a bit indespensible!

Phil Clark said a couple of weeks ago he was the most versatile player in SL, I think he also has the best rugby brain in SL, no one reads a game like he does.

I've never understood why he hasn't been given a long deal. He deserves one as much as any player on Hull's books!

I'd give him at least a two year deal, so vital to the squad.

Noticed over the last year or so that he's not as slow as he used to be.



First saw it at Salford last year when he streaked across diagonally over half a pitch length to make a try saving tackle. And last night he got a spurt on when a Bradford player grabbed an unexpected ball from us and made a dash for the line. Another try saving tackle from Rich at speed.

If he just had that pace over the first few yards he would be a world class player. Did a great show and go in the second half but just didn't have the pace to get away when the gap opened up.

Thats the one. Watch Calderwoods try in 05 final he doesnt lose ground on him. He's slow but not worth going on about it like we do on this forum.
