These are just out players I bet there are similar stories at every club lol

I know so many lively lads who will tell you that they were "saved" by the discipline/release of playing rugby. A night out with the team was always a little bit of extra fun.

And then there's former Saints & Hudderfield's Scott Moore and his 150 mph car chase then being Tasered 6 times in 2016 !

Yeah. I have no reason to believe RL players behave any different from none RL players from the socio economic class from which they are drawn or other RL players at other teams.



Just putting the "spitting" into perspective. We have recruited and retained players with far worse track records.

In other news wasn't the erudite Barrie McDermott 'famously' reckoned to be the first person in the country arrested by the police involving CS gas? A story recounted in the Wigan Episode of the funny R4 series Mark Thomas in Town (well worth a listen as is Stockport)

I agree and to be fair if we were in a better position squad wise, then I would jump in signing him I was initially going to say he could be the next Joel Monaghan signing for us.

Clip reel is a bit underwhelming - just seems a strong bulky unit - not dissimilar to Lineham, so not really sure if that's what we want/need ?

If we sign a 32 year old Aussie winger currently playing bush rugby when we can clearly see what the team is crying out for I will cancel my season ticket next year for the first time in 40 years. Why don't we see if Inglis fancies another go while we're at it.

He looks a good player to be fair but he definitely isn't what we need right now.



We need a big mobile prop (or 2).

What if we already have a couple of props lined up for next year, we just can't get them here sooner?

I have learned to be wary of these highlights reels. Inglis, for example, is a thoroughbred in his highlights reel, but what we got was more like something destined for the knacker's yard, unfortunately.

I agree. Probably more useful to watch their last six games but it is still better than nothing. You have to look at when the best action bits happened. Still it shows that he was/is capable and you can see what sort of player he is.

I remember seeing Tyrone Roberts' highlights (sorry) ... I sent my nephew a text saying something like this boy will change the way we play.

As alffi alluded to, whilst our priority is a couple of (or at least 1) props who actually make an impact, they may not be available right now mid season. Ferguson won't be available for too long I don't expect and regardless of the priority forward(s) we still need to build a squad for next season. That said I don't think he's needed by us really and if we have cash spare right now we should definitely be using it on a forward IMO.

Ok, it would make it more palatable but still seems nonsensical to presumably offload Charnley, a proven SL try scorer to take a risk on an older player who may not settle in. Looking forward to those props being revealed

I think we should use the spare £100K as some sort of financial incentive to the players.



For each tackle bust - £100, for each player supporting a break £50, for each meaningful end of set kick £25, just for looking remotely interested £10. For keeping gob shut on social media £1000.

Lineham in big games was the best winger in SL. Some of the high level plays were almost Vinakolo esk….unfortunately I could count them on 2 hands….

Rhys Kennedy is being offered to super league clubs so we may hear more about him. 6'6 and 17 and a half stone, don't know much about him to be fair and he's played 37 games for the broncos in 4 years. Could be a possibility?

He's certainly got the size. But as Leilani Latu proved, size isn't everything.



We should be scouting him out though if he's available.

This guy has play 37 times in 4 yrs at the Broncos - and it's assumed he's okay as he's coming from the NRL - where we signed Bullock from Wigan and some say he's terrible as couldn't hold down a 1st team spot in SL (but made 57 app in 3 yrs).



I'm sure there's some logic, but we've already had plenty of NRL could have beens that aren't that great.
